His Word Does Not Return Empty
His Word Does Not Return Empty
Every time you open the Bible with an honest and willing heart something in you shifts. Open it today and let it speak.
You do not have to feel ready to open your Bible. You do not have to have the right mindset or the right amount of time or a quiet house or a fresh cup of coffee. You just have to open it. God takes care of the rest. His Word has a way of meeting you exactly where you are and leaving you somewhere better than where you started.
This week we are sitting with one of the most reassuring promises in all of Scripture. A reminder that the Word you are about to read is not passive. It is active. It is alive. And it goes to work the moment you give it your attention.
"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:11 · NKJVScripture quoted from the New King James Version (NKJV).
It shall not return void. That is a promise. Every time you sit with scripture something is being accomplished even if you cannot feel it yet. Even the mornings when you read and feel nothing, God is working. The Word does not require your emotions to be effective. It simply requires your willingness to show up to it.
John 15:1-17
Read this passage slowly over the next seven days. This is Jesus speaking directly to His disciples about what it means to remain connected to Him. It is one of the most intimate and instructive passages in the entire New Testament.
Why it matters: We live in a world that constantly pulls us away from what truly sustains us. This passage is a direct invitation to stay rooted, to abide, to remain, and to trust that fruit follows faithfulness and not the other way around.
Reflection question: What does it look like for you personally to abide in God this week?
Use the S.O.A.P. method to go a little deeper with this passage. Even five minutes is enough to let it take root.

Lord, I open Your Word today with a willing heart. Speak into whatever I am carrying right now. Let what I read today accomplish something in me that I cannot yet see. I trust that Your Word does not return void. Thank You for that promise. Amen.
