Ready To Give An Answer
Ready To Give An Answer
You do not need a perfect explanation. You just need a quiet readiness, and a hope that is honestly yours.
Sharing your faith can feel like it requires the right words, the right moment, and a level of confidence many of us do not feel we have. But Scripture frames it a little differently. It is less about having a perfect script and more about a quiet readiness, a hope that lives inside you so naturally that when someone asks about it, you simply have something honest to say.
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."
1 Peter 3:15 · NKJVScripture quoted from the New King James Version (NKJV).
Notice what this verse does not say. It does not say go out and convince people. It does not say have an answer for every theological question. It says be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in you. The hope comes first. The readiness follows. And the posture is meekness, not pressure.
The most convincing thing about your faith may not be an argument at all. It may simply be the hope that is visibly, quietly, present in your life.
Here are some simple, low pressure ways this might look today:
If someone asked you today about the hope in your life, what would you want to be able to say?
Lord, thank You for the hope I have in You. Help me to carry it naturally and openly, and to be ready when someone asks about it. Give me opportunities this week, and the gentleness to share with meekness rather than pressure. Amen.
With love and grace,
